Hi Big Blue Team!

With some seeming stability coming to regulations we wanted to check in a provide for you some help in navigating through these seemingly uncertain times. The Big Blue Team wanted to provide all our members with some recourses that that will help you stay active, healthy and engaged through this time.

The Big Blue Team is putting out information on a daily basis via our Instagram. But here are some other resources that have some great content to help you stay active, healthy and engaged through these tough times.

Yoga for Swimmers

Here you will find some great workouts that cover the fundamentals, mobility, strength and recovery. There are 16 different sessions that you can chose from online now.

Mental Training

When you don’t have a pool to jump into there are many other things that you can do to get a edge. Right now is a great time to work on those areas that you do not normally get time to work on. You can get the Mental Toughness Training Program (Metuf) free. Great chance to train the mind as well as the body.

Webinar for Parents

Here is a series of Webinars put on by Gold Class Swimming for parents. Hosted by Gary Barclay (Nunawading Swimming Club CEO) Leigh Nugent (former Head Coach of the Australian Swim Team) and Rohan Taylor (Current State Head Coach for Victoria and Tasmania, Former Head Coach of Nunawading Swim Club and multiple time Australian Team Coach) the webinars are titled – Parenting Swimmers through the current environment. There have been two held already with a third being held this Thursday April 16 at 3pm with the guest Child and Sport Psychologist Megan Davis.

North Head Fitness and Blue Print Body Workouts

This is a program is one that many of the swimmers and parents from our Warringah location have already commenced. There are a great range of exercises that are both swimming specific and general to keep you moving and engaged.

  • Suitable for ALL AGES – from kids, to teens and adults
  • Suitable for all levels with scaling & exercise variations available
  • NO equipment required – bodyweight only
  • Structured programming provided including warmup, workout and cooldown with coaching videos for technique
  • Support available from your Coaches with any questions
  • Sessions up to 45mins, up to 6 per week to choose from
  • Strength workouts using functional movements to improve strength, stability and mobility.
  • Conditioning workouts to develop different energy systems
  • Mobile-friendly to access directly from your phone

These programs are brought to us by one of our parents and we would love people to support other members of our community during this time. Body weight program is only $15 a week. Start anytime with no lock-in contract (cancel anytime)
